Meet Elisabeth
At 43 years old, during the summer of 2014, I found myself sitting on the steps outside my house. It was the perfect Norwegian summer’s day and I found myself fondly observing my two children laughing and playing contently in their blow-up swimming pool. Strangely, at that moment, I came to the realization that something was not quite right in my life. It struck me like lightning and could not be ignored: Even though I found myself existing in the life I had always dreamt of, the only thing occupying my mind were the constant thoughts of duty; I was obsessing over possible opportunities to get back inside the house and get something done.
I was absolutely incapable of simply enjoying the fantastic moment that I found myself in. I was living my life like a whirlwind, with countless chores and To-Do lists. Days flew by and weeks drifted away into oblivion – If only I could be more efficient, work-out more, put in more time at work, lose some weight, get more done at home; then life would be better. But upon sitting there on the stairs, contemplating that moment, I realized that the whirlwind is a menacing little devil – It ensures that you are busily occupied, missing out on your own life. I decided then and there to alter course in my life – I had no inclination of how, but knew in every cell in my body that it could not continue like this.
So I took hold of my life by starting a journey in which I simplified my existence and introduced mindfulness into my everyday life. This awakened the potential in me that I never knew I had, and for the first time I let my own creativity create the life I had always dreamed of. Having always been terrified of failure, and constantly steering away from anything that didn’t guarantee success, I completely lost my fear of failure and the inadequacy associated with it. With this limiting mindset out of the way, I could finally discover the person I truly am – I began making conscious choices according to what was important to me, and began shining forth as my absolute self.
During this whole process I wrote a book. ‘’Looking ahead-the will to change’’ reveals what I did and what effect it had on my life. Nothing is hidden from these 14 chapters – I tell you everything; the good, the bad, and the ugly. On this website you can find video courses based on the book, as well as content from similar themes.
